Happy summer, friends!
We’ve been keeping busy the past few weeks traveling across the country and performing music by some of our favorite composers. A few weeks ago, we premiered Empire Lines, a work for percussion quartet and sinfonietta by Loren Loiacono with the Albany Symphony. Earlier this summer, we performed the always-exciting Re(new)al, by Viet Cuong, with the University of Missouri- Kansas City Symphony. All year, we’ve been performing Andy Akiho’s Seven Pillars across the U.S. We’ve had a jam-packed 2022 but our season doesn’t stop here!
Later this week, we will hop on a plane to Northern Ireland to perform Seven Pillars. This will be our first time performing this piece internationally and we are elated! Bringing life to Seven Pillars this past year has been extremely fulfilling for us, and we are excited to continue sharing this piece with as many ears as possible.
You can see our latest Seven Pillars video at the top of this email. We worked with director Alexandra Kotcheff to produce a beautifully haunting film of Pillar IV. You can also find it on our YouTube Channel.
Next month, we’ll be out in Portland, Oregon for Chamber Music Northwest. There, we’ll be logging one more performance of Seven Pillars and teaming up with some other fantastic musicians to perform George Crumb’s American Songbook II.
This has been an exhilarating year for us, and we can’t wait to share more with you. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date with our Seven Pillars journey, and subscribe to our Patreon for VIP access to behind-the-scenes footage and content. Our Patreon allows our supporters to be a part of our process, and we are so grateful for our subscribers. Your support lets us do what we love!
Thanks for reading. Until next time!
