Sandbox Percussion has been appointed as the percussion faculty and ensemble-in-residence at University of Missouri-Kansas City! It’s been a dream of ours to cultivate a culture of percussion and teach together as an ensemble in partnership with an institution. We are thrilled to have this opportunity and join such a vibrant and illustrious faculty. Full press release below:
The UMKC Conservatory is thrilled to announce that all four members of Sandbox Percussion will join our percussion faculty and that the ensemble will be in residence for the 2021-22 academic year. In addition to teaching and mentoring our percussion students, the members of Sandbox will also work collaboratively with our students, faculty, large ensembles, and chamber groups, and lead sessions in our entrepreneurial studies curriculum.
Please join us in welcoming Sandbox members Ian Rosenbaum, Jonny Allen, Terry Sweeney, and Victor Caccese to our Conservatory family. We are excited about the energy and passion toward their art they will bring to our students, along with their abundant knowledge of percussion and the contemporary musical landscape.
