Dear friends,
We are so excited to announce our 2023-2024 season! We’re heading north, south, east, and west across the U.S., starting with a return visit this week to Tippet Rise Art Center in Montana to kick things off. We’re also visiting some new places for us, including Columbus, Ohio; Houston, Texas; Des Moines, Iowa; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Providence, Rhode Island.
For our listeners in New York, this is set to be our most active NYC season yet, featuring five different programs in five great venues around the city. Join us September 14th at The New School, October 1st and 3rd at the Park Avenue Armory, December 3rd at Trinity Church Wall Street, January 31st at the 92nd Street Y, and May 7th at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
Throughout the season, we’re also grateful to be collaborating with some fantastic artists and ensembles. At the 92nd Street Y, we’ll take the stage with Conor Hanick to perform works by Christopher Cerrone and Tyshawn Sorey. We’ll also team up with the Des Moines Symphony this fall, and the Albany Symphony this spring to perform Viet Cuong’s Re(new)al. To round out our season, we’ll make our Alice Tully Hall debut in a performance of Tan Dun’s Elegy: Snow in June with Alisa Weilerstein and George Crumb’s Winds of Destiny (American Songbook IV) with Dawn Upshaw and Gil Kalish.
We can’t wait to share some fantastic music with you, so get out your calendars and see when Sandbox is playing in a city near you!
As always, thanks so much for reading.
-Ian, Jonny, Terry, and Victor
