Described as “exhilarating” by the New York Times and “virtuosic and utterly mesmerizing” by the Guardian, Sandbox Percussion has established itself as a leading proponent of this generation of contemporary percussion chamber music. The 2022 Grammy-nominated ensemble returns to the Music Room with an exciting, all-new program. Both visually and aurally stunning, it includes two world premieres: Verses for a Liminal Space by David Crowell, Dumbarton Oaks’ recent Musician-in-Residence, and Rational People by Tawnie Olson. Works by Andy Akiho, Lukas Ligeti, Jonny Allen, and Steve Reich will also be performed.
