We are thrilled to present the world premiere of Michael Torke’s BLOOM in New York City this Wednesday, December 11th! Join us at 7:30pm in the John L. Tishman Auditorium at The New School for the premiere of this fresh and exciting new work for percussion quartet. 

This evening-length percussion quartet explores whimsical and groovy percussion writing juxtaposed with introspective, lyrical melodies. Each movement builds upon the next, resulting in a steady exploration of rhythmic and melodic interplay, inching like ivy through the duration of the work.

This piece is a labor of love, and working with Michael on this collaboration has been an unforgettable experience. We are honored to share this incredible quartet with our New School family in just a few days. We are ecstatic that BLOOM has been featured as Gramophone’s video of the day, on John Schaefer’s New Sounds, and reviewed on AllMusic, and we are counting down the days until the premiere!
