Thank you so much to everyone who sent us scores throughout March 2020. We received more than 80 new pieces from composers all around the world. Amazing! As we began to make plans to read the first set of pieces, New York State escalated its response to COVID-19, instituting a “shelter-in-place” rule which includes the closing of all non-essential businesses. At that time, we felt the most important thing is to do our part during the crisis and acknowledge the new mandate that the state has issued. Therefore, decided to postpone our reading planned for Wednesday, March 25th.
We recently launched a new concert series live streamed from our studio in Brooklyn, NY. We performed our first concert on Sunday, August 2nd. Over the next few months we plan to use this platform as an opportunity to live-stream multiple reading sessions of these 80 + pieces submitted to us.
We look forward to studying and reading these works soon, and connecting with all of the composers who have sent us music.
