Sandbox Percussion Fundraiser

Sandbox Percussion is commissioning composer Robert Sirota to write a new piece for percussion quartet. We are so excited to invite you to our studio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn on February 16th (President’s Day), so you can get a behind the scenes look at our work environment and creative process. This evening will include hors-d’oeuvres and wine starting at 6pm as well as a special performance by Sandbox Percussion featuring excerpts from Spindrift, Mr. Sirota’s new work-in-progress.

All admission fees and donations will go directly toward funding this new work. Sandbox Percussion is fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas making all donations for this event 100% tax-deductible. Our studio is located at 169 54th Street, #6, 11220, off the R train at the 53rd street station. If you choose to drive, there is street parking available on our block.

The members of Sandbox Percussion were brought together by their love of chamber music and simple joy of playing together. They have performed and given masterclasses at Cornell University, the Curtis Institute, Furman University, Peabody Conservatory, and the Yale School of Music. Composer Robert Sirota has had his works performed by the Washington Square Contemporary Music Society, Sequitur, Chameleon Arts Ensemble as well as the Seattle, Oradea and Saint Petersburg symphonies. He has received composer grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the United States Information Agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, Meet the Composer, and the American Music Center. Sandbox Percussion will premiere Mr. Sirota’s new work on April 12, 2015 on the Concerts on the Slope series in Brooklyn, NY.

All patrons who purchase a general admission ticket for $50 will be invited to wine and hors-d’oeuvres as well as a live performance by Sandbox Percussion.

Anyone who wishes to purchase the VIP package for $100 will be invited to our fundraising event and will also receive a free download of a live recorded performance by Sandbox Percussion that is not available anywhere else.
