On May 18th, we are thrilled to host our annual Sandbox Percussion benefit at our studio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn! The night will begin at 7pm, and we will be featuring music by our good friend and collaborator, Andy Akiho. We’ll also be announcing our 2018/19 season, as well as some upcoming projects and collaborations for the next season.
You can purchase tickets and find out more about the event HERE.
If you are unable to attend this event, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to us through our fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas. Your gift will support our artistic and educational vision as we share our music with a wider audience. Thank you so much for your support!
In addition to our annual benefit we have some exciting performances coming up in the next month. First, on May 10th we return to House of Yes in Brooklyn, NY for a full performance of Steve Reich’s monumental Drumming. This will be our third annual performance of Drumming and we are so excited to continue this tradition in the future. You can purchase tickets for this event HERE.
On May 17th we are teaming up with composer, Ricardo Romaneiro to present Supperclub, an evening of music, food & visuals at (Le) Poisson Rouge. We will be performing music by Steve Reich, Andy Akiho, Viet Cuong, Victor Caccese, Jonny Allen, and giving a world premiere of a new work by Ricardo Romaneiro. You can purchase tickets for this event HERE.
On May 19th we will join the Rite of Summer contemporary music series to perform two outdoor shows on Governors Island at Colonels Row. Both performances are free and open to the public. You can find out more about the event HERE.
In June we are making our international debut with the Festival International de Musique de Chambre in Chalais, Charente, a commune in France. We will be performing a rendition of Georges Bizet’s Carmen on the final gala concert with Ensemble International des Quatre Siècles. You can purchase tickets for this event HERE.
Lastly, Sandbox Percussion has been nominated for 21st Century Musician’s POP Pick in April. Top picks make it to the final voting in November and the chance to be named POP Icon for 2018. There’s one more day to vote and let your voice be heard.
