We made it! It’s outdoor concert season and I don’t know about you, but it’s time for us to break out the white suits! OK, maybe we wore all white in a concert last January, but that was just a warm up. It’s on!

If you find yourself in NYC next week you will have 5 chances to see us in concert. All packed into just 3 days! First we’re joining up with the Brian Brooks Moving Company at The Kitchen NYC, June 9-11 to give the world premiere of Jerome Begin’s new evening length work, Wilderness. We spent a week down in Rockville, MD last month at the American Dance Institute work-shopping and performing this new piece. We had the time of our lives! The dancers in the Brian Brooks Moving Company are breathtakingly talented and we can’t wait to bring this piece to New York. Brian is brilliant and choreographed an entire evening to be paired with Jerome’s relentless, hyper-rhythmic, hypnotic work. When we imagine a wilderness it is often an uncharted, mystical place. In this piece our wilderness is the digital, electronic sounds often used in music and how they interact with dance and live percussion.

On June 10th at 5pm we will be performing in Bryant Park on an event produced by Chamber Music America called INTERSECT. We’ll be featuring music by American composers Steve Reich, David Crowell and our own Jonny Allen. We’re particularly excited about David’s new piece for percussion quartet which we gave our first performance of in March at The Phillips Collection. Two of the movements are inspired by the often chaotic sounds of New York City. Bryant Park will be a rare opportunity to hear how David’s piece interacts with its own inspiration. There’s also some really amazing performers playing on this same event after us, so stick around!
