We have some big news! We’re announcing our first ever NYU Sandbox Percussion Seminar from August 1-6, 2016 at New York University. Students will have the opportunity to study, rehearse, and perform along side members of Sandbox Percussion and world-renowned percussionist and NYU Steinhardt Professor Simon Boyar. We will be programming some of the most pivotal percussion chamber music repertoire as well as our own commissions and original compositions. The mission is simple, to provide students with a foundation for becoming successful 21st century musicians, and in doing so giving them the most meaningful chamber music experience of their lives.
Keep an eye out on our website for more information about the seminar and how to apply. For anyone at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in San Antonio, TX, stop by the NYU booth to say hello to Victor and hear more about the seminar.
We can’t wait for August, but November is fun too! Next Thursday November 19th at 1pm we will be performing Strange and Sacred Noise by John Luther Adams at Trinity Church in Manhattan. This piece is stunning, epic, and some of the most powerful music we have ever played. You can watch the promo video here to learn more about this event and live stream the concert here. Mr. Adams will be joining us, we hope you can too!
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more events soon and information regarding our first summer seminar at NYU!
