Sandbox Percussion returns to Trinity Church Wall Street’s “Concerts at One” series, this time as ensemble in residence, for an exciting program with works by Andy Akiho and Steve Reich.
Transcendence — reaching beyond what is given — is the theme of this hour of contemporary classical music that features the mesmerizing ensemble Sandbox Percussion. Hear Portal, a work by Grammy-nominated and Pulitzer finalist Andy Akiho, who is hailed for bold compositions that explore and push the boundaries of chamber music and symphonies. The stirring lineup also includes Steve Reich’s Jacob’s Ladder, Dorothy Rudd Moore’s Transcension, David Lang’s ever-present, and Jessie Montgomery’s Source Code. Performed by Trinity Choir and NOVUS; Melissa Attebury, conductor.

We suggest arriving 45 minutes before start time. Admission is first-come, first-served, with ticket holders receiving priority (although not guaranteed entrance if the venue reaches capacity).
