Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center: Songs and Snow

At Alice Tully Hall, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center paired George Crumb's Winds of Destiny (American Songbook IV), for singer, percussion quartet and amplified piano, with Tan Dun's Elegy: Snow in June for cello and percussion quartet, a remembrance of the Tiananmen Square conflict.

Sandbox Percussion performed the Crumb with soprano Dawn Upshaw and pianist Gilbert Kalish, and the Tan Dun with cellist Alisa Weilerstein.
