Re(new)al with the Mannes Orchestra

The Mannes Orchestra, conducted by David Hayes, returned to Alice Tully Hall with a program titled Mavericks. Sandbox Percussion played Viet Cuong's Re(new)al, a percussion quartet concerto dedicated to the group, in which the soloists play found instruments including crystal glasses and compressed air cans alongside snare drum and vibraphone.

The program also included John Zorn's Contes de Fées with violinist Stefan Jackiw, and Luciano Berio's Sinfonia with eight amplified singers.
